Mary M. Roach

MARY M. ROACH was born in Old Lyme, Connecticut, on March 4, 1951. She received her undergraduate degree from American University (1969, B.A., School of Public Administration) and attended Fordham Law School (1976, J.D.). She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1977 and practiced for several years in New York City with emphasis on both municipal finance and federal litigation. Ms. Roach came to the Capital Region in 1979 and since that time has devoted the great majority of her time to the representation of school districts.

Ms. Roach's experience and knowledge of school law extends beyond labor relations to such matters as school board powers, procedures and policies, the role and powers of the superintendent, all school finance matters including annual budget/contingency budget matters, reserve funds, capital projects, tax certiorari proceedings, investment of district funds, sale or lease of district property, all student related matters, special education issues, use of district facilities by outside organizations and asbestos management and abatement, as well as other environmental concerns of school districts. Ms. Roach joined Roemer Wallens & Mineaux LLP in 1996 as a senior associate and has trained over 100 employees of our clients in Employee Corrective Action, Human Rights and Sexual Harassment.
